History

The OFL Workers Under 30 Committee was founded at the 1997 OFL Convention. A youth Vice-President was elected to the OFL Executive Board, and a Workers Under 30 Committee, including representatives from various unions affiliated with the OFL, was formed.

These representatives must be 30 years of age or under in keepingwith a decision taken by the youth present at the founding meeting. The committee meets regularly to discuss various issues--all focusing towards youth.

The enthusiasm the commmittee generates provides fresh and innovative ideas to help educate youth about unions. Unions are not just for people with lifetime careers. They are for everybody, including youth in the workforce.
